Job Description

JOB TITLE: Accountant/Payroll Specialist

DEPARTMENT: Human Resources

CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt

RESPONSIBLE TO: Human Resources Director
HOURS: Full-Time (Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm)

SUMMARY:

The Payroll Specialist position will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day payroll and accounting functions.

EDUCATION:

Β· Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred

Β· Minimum 5+ years of payroll processing experience required

Β· Required 3+ years of ADP Workforce Now experience

Β· Strong knowledge of general accounting principles

Β· Experience with QuickBooks preferred

Β· Proficient in Microsoft Office Software

essential duties:

  • Administration of companywide payroll system
  • Accurately and Timely delivery of payroll related records and reporting
  • Processes the company payroll biweekly
  • Sets up new hires on ADP workforce Now
  • Prepare and process off-cycle terminations
  • Verify all payroll entries including deductions, earnings and changes, review and reconcile payroll data and resolve any discrepancies as necessary
  • Ensure garnishments are processed in accordance with federal/state laws
  • Organize and verify any additional data for final payroll runs prior to processing of W-2s, and process W-2 corrections as appropriate
  • Provides all the payroll information for our yearly 403(b) payroll testing/audit to our 403(b)-plan provider
  • Comply with the ACA monthly reporting requirements to our Health Insurance plan provider
  • Update employee plan election information on ADP after annual open enrollment
  • Create payroll invoices (billbacks) to various entities and ensures that the receivables are collected in a timely manner
  • Post all necessary payroll journal entries to the general ledger
  • Keep up with current federal and state payroll regulations and update accordingly
  • Other duties related within the scope of this position

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
