Key Qualifications

Strong skills in object-oriented software design and programming. Proficient in Python/Java or functional languages.
Comfortable working independently to deliver results with minimal direction.
Oriented towards practical solutions that can be proven empirically, as opposed to theoretical research.
Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, and communication skills.
Background in either of Machine Learning, Federated Learning, Distributed Systems, Differential Privacy or Statistics.
Commitment to high quality, well-tested code, and automation.

Description

You will design and implement features for private federated learning that will benefit millions of Apple users worldwide; work with ML and software engineers to perform empirical analysis, enhance existing ML/FL frameworks and make experimental features viable for production-readiness. You will review designs and code by others and provide constructive feedback. You will share your expertise while continuously learning from colleagues. You will optionally collaborate with world-class privacy and ML researchers, and have the opportunity to publish your work bolstered with results from real-world use-cases at Apple.

Education & Experience

Pursuing a Masters or PhD in Computer Science, or related technical field.
